Can We Provoke Reciprocal Reaction is the first advance of “A Time to Love and A Time to Die,” the upcoming debut LP by Mexico City based quartet Amor Muere. While all the members have multiple solo projects and bands, Amor Muere works as an effective meeting point for their individual explorations of violin, cello, synths and tape manipulation. Creating a sense of community with a growing audience through their live sessions —sets mostly based on sound and vocal improvisations— Amor Muere often segues into epic allegories filled with sweet melodies and startling lullabies, infused with a lofty post-rock vein. Can We Provoke Reciprocal Reaction is not only a first advance, it is also the first track of their upcoming LP. With beats that transition into syncopation using plucked strings from cello and violin as rhythmic components, it employs this dynamism against a contrasting feeling of tension created by tapes and synthesizers. This song began with a beat and a loop of plucked strings. Like many of their songs, it was recorded almost entirely live, except for the vocals and synthesizers.
